Description: With deeply lobed leaves that are roughly hairy, this perennial wildflower appears erect, branched, and has a strong scent. It produces numerous tiny pale purple flowers on wiry spikes in late summer.

Vervain is known as Iron herb in Holland, Germany, Finland, Slovakia, and Denmark since it was traditionally used in steel hardening procedures and love potions to promote love as hot as burning iron! Vervain by the doorway was supposed to attract lovers, and a sprig picked by the bride herself would ensure her husband's loyalty.

Vervain also helps to strengthen the heart, calm the mind, regulate the digestive system, and reduce inflammation. It is still used in traditional medicine today for its therapeutic properties. It is also a popular herb for cultivating in gardens.
